To-Do Tuesday 1-30-18 | A Christmas Tree Farm Finish

Hello, and Happy Tuesday, friends! I have spent a wonderful week playing around with no commitments to sew anything! It. Was. Amazing. Amazing!!

I spent the evenings and the weekend working on my Christmas Tree Farm house in the Santa’s Village series by Country Cottage Needleworks. I finished it on Saturday evening. I just love every single house in this series. I think it’s because each house feels like a finish, so I’m not looking at this massive project as one whole piece!

I’m putting Santa’s Village away for a few days and I pulled out The Dullahan and The Death Coach by The Little Stitcher to work on. I was going to try and get some stitching done on my Burlesque Zombie Portrait, but decided Dullahan was small enough that I could get it finished and cross it off my WIP list in January. It’s a quick and fun little stitch, and since I seem to always choose big projects, this will be a nice change of pace!

It was really great taking a week off from having to sew anything at all. I actually have projects starting to sift around in my mind, and that is a good sign! I’m not putting anything down on the list for this week, as I want to see where I’m led to go craft-wise. I can’t wait to see what ya’ll have been working on. Your posts always bring me joy and keep my crafty vibe going when I think it wants to vacate the premises.

This week’s To-Do list:

  1. Your work is just beautiful! I don’t think it’s what I’m supposed to say, but the snowflakes just seem to pop off the canvas to me. They’re such a beautiful finishing touch. Always seems funny to work on a holiday piece so far away from the holiday, but finishing can be a long process. I think you’ve got this one. 😉

    1. Thank you so much, Julie! I really wanted to give the snowflakes a bit of sparkle, so I stitched them with one strand of DMC white floss and one strand of Petite Treasure Braid in Snow. It really gives them a subtle sparkle that I love!

  2. Hi Christine,
So nice to see/hear that you actually followed through with your resolution to take some down time. YAY YOU! Didn’t it just feel great to sew when you wanted to, and if you didn’t feel like it there was no guilt. ~smile~ Roseanne

  3. Looks like another couple of nice projects happening at your house! Love seeing your progress! My sewing vibe got up and left for most of January. But I did get Chic Country out and finished that top. Phew. It was dragging me down. That must have been just the kick I needed to figure out what new project I wanted to get started. Glad you had an enjoyable stitching week!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment... You just made my day!!
