Tis The Season from the Home for the Holidays booklet by Blackbird Designs. This was started on September 2nd and finished December 10th. Stitched 1 over 2 on 36 count Wisteria Linen from Lakeside Linens using flosses dyed specifically for this SAL by Nancy of Victorian Motto Sampler Shoppe . The white was not showing up well so I stitched that with 2 strands instead.
This ornament was a quick stitch. I found a free pattern called Shades of Christmas on an archived website and wanted to stitch this for a friend. Stitched 2 over 2 on antique white lugana from Wichelt using Rainbow Gallery red silk floss, a cotton floss in Eat Your Greens by Color & Cotton and yellow Mill Hill beads. Started November 26th and fully finished by December 1st.
Peace on Earth from Cottage Garden Samplings is a stitch-along that was hosted by Sarah of Stitchologie and myself. We used the hashtag #CGSPeaceOnEarth for social media and created a Facebook Group for people to show their progress. The designer of CGS, Vinniey, even joined our group and shares pictures (with permission) of finishes from the group on her business facebook page. I had so much fun finishing this stitching off Priscilla Blain style. This was stitched 1 strand of floss over 2 threads on 36 count Smoke Blue linen from Zweigart. My first time using one thread and stitching on a smaller count. I LOVED it. This piece has made me want to stitch everything on a smaller count fabric instead of 28 or 32 count. Started on August 13th and finished November 21st.
Coffee and Friends and Hug In A Cup are two patterns from the Cool Beans series by Hands On Design. I stitched these two up with fabric and flosses given to me from Trish Turner to stitch up for her needlework shop Threads Entwined. We converted the called-for DMC flosses to GAST flosses and these turned out fantastic! This was stitched on 32 count Winter’s Brew linen from R&R Fabrics. Started on October 28th and finished November 8th.

Patriotic Sampler by Jeaneatte Douglas was another stitch-along I participated in with phatcatphlossing, gulfcoaststitcher and pgsoap on Instagram. This was stitched on 32 count lambswool linen using all the called for silks and the embellishment pack (purchased separately) for this pattern. This had a lot of great specialty stitches and I absolutely loved every moment stitching on this one! Started on July 22nd and finished on October 28th
Grimes Ghost was a stitch-along I did with spoonerroonie_stitcher on Instagram. This chart is from Silver Creek Samplers. I started this on June 17th and finished it on September 8th. This was stitched on 32 count jobelan in Silvery Moon from Zweigart.
Batty and Friend by Keslyn’s Cross Stitch was a pattern gifted to me by Lolly of Lollypop Stitches on IG. This was a quick fun stitch! It was stitched 2 over 2 an an unknown grey linen with black DMC floss. Started June 10th and finished June 14th.
Hello, Summer by Plum Street Samplers was stitched while my son, Joshua, was in bootcamp during the summer of 2018. I started this the day I received his “Sailor-In-A-Box” from the Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, IL on July 3rd and finished it on July 14th, the day I received his first letter from boot camp. This piece helped keep me from worrying too much during those couple of weeks of no communication. Stitched on 32 count linen in Overcast from Lakeside Linens.
Santa’s Village series by Country Cottage Needleworks. This piece was stitched 2 over 2 on 32 count Jobelan in Lambswool by Wichelt. Started on March 4th, 2017 and finished on May 18th, 2018 (with a stitching break from May 2017 to late August 2017). I used all of the called for flosses with the exception of switching out the red DMC floss in the trees for Petite Treasure Braid in Red, and using one strand of DMC Blanc and one strand of Petite Treasure Braid in Snow for the snowflakes. The Candy Cane cottage was supposed to have Poblano Pepper from Gentle Arts Sampler Threads, but the dye lot was off so I substituted one of the other light green overdyed flosses that were called for. This piece took a total of 97 stitching days to finish.
Nevermore Raven Pattern from Prim Stitcher Shoppe on Etsy. Started March 16, 2018 and finished March 27, 2018. Stitched 2 over 2 on 28 count raw linen. Fully finished into a pillow using Nevermore fabric from Michael Miller.
Mushrooms Grow in Poop by Alicia Watkins on Etsy. This piece was a fun, and super fast stitch! I did not do all of the backstitching that was charted, and I used beads instead of french knots. This was started on January 31, 2018 and finished in five days on February 4, 2018. This was stitched 2 over 2 on 28 count natural linen from Wichelt.
The Dullahan and The Death Coach by The Little Stitcher I started this on September 12, 2017 and was using this as my travel stitching piece. So it didn’t get finished until January 30, 2018 and it took a total of 9 stitching days to complete. This was stitched 2 over 2 on 32 count linen in Vintage Country Mocha from Zweigart.
