Hello, and Happy Tuesday, friends! This past week just zoomed by! We’ve been busy here with lots of little things. The Mister finished working on his pickup truck, and I was so happy when that was over! He is having a serious case of “Spring Cleaning” and “Fix ALL The Things” right now. He goes through this about once a year when he gets sick of everything in the garages and decides we need to purge everything and then reorganize. The funny thing (to me) is, his garages are always so neat! I only wish the bug hit him this time in the actual Spring. Or winter. It’s no fun in the summer!
I am not doing any sewing right now at all. It’s way too hot in the craft room. I am still just working on my stitching in the evenings. However, for my birthday on Tuesday I told everyone all I wanted to do was sit and stitch! I will spend some time in the morning catching up on your blog posts though. I missed doing that again this week, with all our running around! I did get to the halfway point on the Patriotic Sampler by Jeanette Douglas. I can not tell you how much I am loving this chart. The specialty stitches mixed in with the cross stitches keep this one interesting and just enough of a challenge that I enjoy every stitch!
Sarah (formerly Quilt Moderne, but now Stitchologie) and I are co-hosting a stitch-along that just started this past Sunday. The pattern is Peace on Earth from Cottage Garden Samplings. The pattern was originally from the Winter 2015 issue of Cross-Stitch & Needlework. Vinniey, the designer of Cottage Garden Samplings, recently released it as a PDF chart in her Etsy shop. The PDF actually includes two colorways! Sarah and I loved the chart so much we decided a SAL was in order. People are posting pictures on Instagram using the hashtag #CGSPeaceOnEarthSAL. We also set up a Facebook Group for people to join and share there as well. We just hit the 200 member mark today! Holy schmolies!
I didn’t have a lot of stitchy time on Sunday when we started the SAL as I was taking my youngest daughter out shopping for her birthday, and then we took her out to dinner that evening. However, I did get a few hours of stitching time in and had a little bit of progress. Just the bottom corner border and a small start on the house. I will be working on that Monday evening a bit (right after I post this!). For my birthday I will be starting a new SAL. I’ll be starting Things Unseen along with another Flosstuber, Steph of Just Keep Stitchin’. (I’m doing the Patriotic Sampler in a SAL with her mom–who also happens to be her Flosstube partner–Pam). It’s all about the SAL’s for the last half of 2018! After I catch up with you all, I plan on spending the day working on this chart and I’ll stitch on it for the rest of the week. I may be sneaking in some time with the Patriotic Sampler and the Peace on Earth piece too!

Hi Christine! Happy Happy Birthday!! I hope you have a fabulous day and the year ahead is filled with many blessings. I was just thinking about Josh this morning, wondering how basic training is going and if he will be finished soon. It’s supposed to be SO hot and humid today that he really has my sympathy. Your stitching looks fabulous! The fabrics are just so beautiful – it makes me want to start a new cross stitch project! Happy Tuesday! ~smile~ Roseanne

Your crossstitch pieces are just lovely. I have a Christmas themed piece that I have been working on for years (clearly not my #1 craft) and your work inspires me to spend a little time on it!

Happy birthday and thank you for the linky party! All of these are lovely. I’ll have to dig out some of my completed cross stitch and devote a post to them alone.

Happy Belated Birthday! Enjoy your stitch a long. One more week until more exciting things happen in your family. My hubby has been cleaning the garage, too. I’m betting your garage is much neater than ours is.
