Hello, and Happy Tuesday friends!
We had a really busy week here with Josh’s graduation and Callie leaving for the summer. I didn’t have much time to do any sewing until the weekend arrived. I would have skipped it except I had to get the next part of the quilting series recorded, so I managed to get the blocks sewn. At least now the whole quilt fits on the “design wall”. I’m enjoying this series, but this week was a busy one to try and fit it in. At least I’m getting a quilt done in the process! I also really love this Michael Miller Midnight Gems fabric line. I wish I had bought a lot more of it when I had the chance!
I am also sewing a tester version of a bag, but I can’t show any pictures of that until it releases mid-summer. It’s a fun little project, and I can’t wait to share it! In the meantime, I am sharing pictures of a Swoon Harriet bag I sewed up for Brad’s daughter in law, and my very good friend, for Christmas. I forgot to share it after she received it. This bag was the first time I sewed with cork. It was more challenging to work with than I expected. It actually cracked when I folded it and then sewed it down. I was surprised about that happening. I do love the chicken wire fabric and the inside chicken coop fabric as well. This bag was just too fun to make!
This week I need to assemble the four patch quilt top. I also need to finish my tester bag and get my notes and pictures submitted. I have more thank you sewing to do, so I hope to get at least one gift done as well. I hope you all have a great week and I hope to catch up with you all later this week!

Hi Christine,
Your quilt top looks lovely and I love those fabrics. Fun colors! I’m surprised to hear that the cork cracked. I thought it was much more flexible and wouldn’t do that. Good luck with your sewing this week!
Happy Tuesday! ~smile~ Roseanne

Thank you, I’m enjoying these jewel toned colors in the quilt top! I was surprised the cork cracked too. It didn’t look awful, thankfully, but I expected more from it.

The quilt will be adorable! The bag is stunning!!! I haven’t tried cork yet, but it’s on my list. I also have some ultra suede I want to use for a Necessary Clutch Wallet, just tried my 1st one this week.

Thank you!! I haven’t worked with ultra suede yet, but that’s certainly on my list. That would be gorgeous to use for an NCW!

Hi Christine. Your quilt is looking good. Don`t you hate it when you figure out, months later, that you should have bought more fabric?
