To-Do Tuesday 5-8-18 | 10 Down, 2 to go!

Hello, and Happy Tuesday, friends!

Stitch ALL The Things | Santa's Village WIP
Santa’s Sleighworks and the Gingerbread Emporium

This week ended up being a lot busier than the Mister and I expected. I managed to finish some more gifts/secret sewing and that was about it. I didn’t get back to the Brimfield Block. In the evenings I did spend a little bit of time finishing up the Gingerbread Emporium from Santa’s Village and finished it on Sunday night. I’ve got ten cottages done, and two more cottages/buildings in the village to stitch and then I’m finished! I will be focusing on this piece for the month of May.

This week I need to get a start on making the Road Trip bag (pattern from By Annie) for my daughter for her birthday. She asked me if I would make her a organizer for her car and this was the closest pattern I could find to the picture she sent me as a reference. It’s a doozy of a bag, so I’m not sure if I will actually get it finished by next Tuesday. I’m definitely going to try though!

I am behind on your posts and comments again this week, but I will catch up on those in the next day or so! I hope you are all doing wonderfully and having beautiful weather where you are!

This week’s To-Do list:

  • More Secret Sewing
  • Piece together the Brimfield Block
  • Finish Gingerbread Emporium in Santa’s Village and start the next cottage.

Now it’s your turn! Write up your post and link up using the InLinkz linky below.

  1. Hi Christine,
Oh, I love car organizers and this one looks like a fabulous one! Look at all those pockets and pouches for holding stuff! On the other hand, it looks like a dilly to make. I would have gone to the Dollar store and picked one up – HAHA! Not really – but you’re a far better person than I to tackle that one. I cannot wait to see it all complete! ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. This car organizer is amazing! And it’s been a dream to sew up so far… But I’m just about to finish this up and sew the bindings onto the outer edges and THAT is definitely going to be a challenge. I foresee skipped stitches galore!

  2. that is a nice cross stitch really cute. I have the pattern for that bag and I was going to make it for our trips but I have not gotten to it still – maybe later this summer

    1. Thank you! This bag has been great to sew up so far. I’m just about to finish up the bag and sew the binding on and that is going to be the challenge for me (mainly for my machine)!

  3. What a sweet cross stitch. And the Road Trip Bag looks very functional, could be great for lots of quilty things. 🙂 Did I ever mention to you I don’t like making bags or purses, even tho I have made several? Never got the love of making them even tho I tried!

    1. Thank you! I’m almost sad I won’t have Santa’s Village to work on after this month! The only part of bag making I don’t like is when you have to sew all of those thick seems up together. Ugh!!

    1. There sure were a lot of parts to it, but thankfully the directions are really well written! The pattern also included a sheet that you could copy and it had labels for all of the pattern pieces. I loved that! It’s almost finished, but not quite.
