To-Do Tuesday 9-5-17 | Happy Labor Day

Hello, and Happy Tuesday, friends. I hope you had an enjoyable holiday weekend! We had a busy week here. It didn’t really occur to me that it was a holiday weekend, so we had no plans to do anything special. I did finish the bag order I started last Monday. I’ve made this bag before and had just enough fabric left for one more order. The fabric is Rhapsody Chatter by AdornIt. Super cute, and fun, print!

I also started working on the big shop order. I cut all of the fabric pieces out, all of the interfacing, and got almost everything fused. I ran out of black glitter vinyl, so I couldn’t finish fusing the fleece onto the exteriors of those bags. The vinyl should be arriving in the mail on Tuesday, so the short delay isn’t putting me behind at all. Thank goodness!

The Mister asked me to go on a quick day trip with him up to Flagstaff to do some horse-trading with sewing machines. He had a Singer 24-9 cobbler treadle machine, and several other vintage machines, and a lovely woman was willing to trade her 222K Singer for them. I took Friday off from sewing bags and we ran up there (I made up for the “day off” by sewing on Saturday. Yep…another Saturday working. The LAST ONE! *I hope*). Meeting people you chat with online can be a bit nerve-wracking, but when we met this woman it felt as if we’d been friends for years. Later that evening I was trying to come up with a name for this beauty of a machine. It occurred to me that the previous owner’s name would be absolutely perfect. And so the 222K has been named Mel! She’ll be a good sister to the 221 Featherweight I have named Maye. Mel and Maye. I just love it!

As far as cross stitching this week, I finished Poinsettia Place, the second house in the Santa’s Village series by Country Cottage Needleworks. Each chart within the series has a Just Another Button Company button on it, and this one is the cardinal on the roof. I won’t be sewing the buttons on until the entire village is done, but I do like to take a picture of what it will look like once they are sewn on. After I finished this chart I immediately start the third chart, North Pole Post Office. I should be finished with that one by next week!
