To-Do Tuesday 8-29-17 | Bags Galore

Hello, friends! It’s another To-Do Tuesday and this week (and the next four weeks) are all about the bags for me.

Stitch ALL The Things | Bag Order

Last week I had one three-bag order to finish and I was supposed to start on the shop order. The three-bag order turned into a six-bag order, and since the shop order hadn’t been finalized yet, I was able to complete an additional order that was scheduled for mid-September, as well as start another mid-September order. I promised myself (and the Mister) that I would not work on weekends to make sure I didn’t burn out again and to give myself (and my back) a break from sewing every day. I broke that promise, with the blessing of Mister, and spent 5 hours sewing on Saturday. I don’t plan on doing that often, but I did want to make sure I finished the order I started before the shop order was finalized.

How cute is that camper fabric? I went to a grand opening of a local quilt shop and saw that fabric. There was just under three yards left on the bolt by the time I got there, so I snatched up the remaining fabric! I don’t have a picture of the other bag in progress, but I will be finishing that up Tuesday morning. The shop finalized their order with me on Monday afternoon, so as soon as the bag in progress is done, the next three weeks will be all about the shop order. So expect progress pictures of my cross stitching, instead of finished bags, for the next few posts!

Stitch ALL The Things | Mystery Halloween Town Clue 4

Speaking of cross stitching, I finally caught up with the Ship’s Manor Mystery Halloween Town Stitch Along! I finished Clue 4 on Saturday, and on Sunday I pulled out my Santa’s Village. I added the pine bough and berries under Santa’s House, and started working more on the next house, Poinsettia Place. My goal is to try and complete this building by August 31st. I really want to have a finish to add credit to my Stitch From Stash balance. If I don’t make it this month, it will be credited to September.

  1. Hmm so you twisted hubby’s arm to allow some Saturday work! The bags of course are gorgeous again. The cross stitching must be nice and relaxing as an alternative, I find hand work is quite grounding.

    1. Haha, yep, I did twist his arm a bit! I had more kid school expenses than I anticipated this year, so he was understanding when I said I needed to sew a few extra bags to help pay the bill. I really do find the cross stitching to be relaxing at night. It is my “me-time” while still being available to the kids, and sharing a love-seat with hubby. He doesn’t feel ignored, and I get to do some selfish crafting. It’s a win-win!
