To Do Tuesday 8-22-17 | Bag Orders & Mystery Halloween Town

Hello, friends! We’ve been running on full speed over here. I feel like I’m barely catching my breath before the next busy day comes along. But progress is being made on my to-do list, and that makes me happy!

Along with my To-Do list, we’ve been busy with the kids and their life-plans. My son wants to join the Navy when he graduates in May, so we’ve been talking to recruiters and getting him ready for the process and early sign-up. He may be disqualified for any military service due to his astigmatism, so we’d like to find out as soon as possible if that is to be the case. That way he can start planning for college rather than the military. I also attended college orientation for my daughter who is a Junior in high school. She will be taking the Certified Nursing Course concurrently with high school. So, some busy life stuff with the kids this week!

I completed one order of custom sized project bags. These fabrics were a lot of fun to make bags with!

I just finished the second order on Monday. I haven’t reached my efficient sewing levels yet, as these bags seem to be taking me longer than usual to make. I will get back into the groove soon, I’m sure, it’s just taking time with some of the various appointments mixed in.

Stitch ALL The Things | Ships Manor Mystery Halloween Town Progress

I’ve been making a small bit of progress on my Ship’s Manor Mystery Halloween Town SAL. There are only two clues left to be released, so I am trying to catch up by the next release date on September 7th.

This week I have an order for three bag sets to make, and then I will start on my large shop order which will take about two and a half to three weeks. I better find my efficient sewing skills soon!

This week’s To-Do list:

  • Complete three bag set order.
  • Begin shop order.

Now it’s your turn! Write up your post and link up using the InLinkz linky below.

  1. Hi Christine,
WOW – that Navy ship looks cool. I have always wanted to go onboard an aircraft carrier . . . but I doubt that will ever happen. Love your bags! I remember the big pile of fabrics that you pulled. You are quick, and they are really nice. Your cross stitch looks great, too. You’ll have it complete with time to spare for the holiday. ~smile~ Roseanne P.S. Thanks for hosting!

    1. That ship does look cool! Josh is hoping to get into the Nuclear Power Program that puts him either on the Aircraft Carrier or (gulp) a submarine. He’s excited about either prospect, but the thought of the submarine one makes me nervous (not him though)! I’ll be whittling that big pile down in the next three weeks! I’ve gotten all of the other smaller piles made and out the door! Thanks so much for linking up!!

  2. I know several Navy men & women. I wish the best to your son for his future.

Your bags look great as always! All adorable in their own way with the fabric choices. Sounds like life is settling back into routine with you all back home. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Sharon! Our fingers are crossed that the Navy will give him the exemption for his astigmatism. It’s a big concern for us all right now, as he really wants to join. We’ll find out this coming week, hopefully by Thursday evening!

  3. Ship’s Manor is, of course, gorgeous! The bag with the beach-y scenes is so cute! We move Harley to Corvallis on the first, so I totally understand the business you’re going through! Best wishes!

    1. I just caught up the Ship’s Manor Mystery Halloween Town. YAY! The beach bag seems to be popular. The fabric is really cute. I hope the move and the transition for you and Harley goes easy on you both!

      1. Me, too! She put off packing and getting ready to move until yesterday, and I’m not thrilled about it. She assures me she’ll be ready, though. We’ll see. 😀
