Hello and Happy Tuesday, my friends! What a crazy busy few weeks it has been. Last week I finished making this adorable five piece bag set out of Michael Miller fabrics. I had a customer specifically request the Birds of Norway print. I ordered it from a seller on Etsy, along with another print that I thought would be a perfect match to be the bag lining. Boy, was I ever wrong about that. Thankfully the quilt shop we had in town had a Michael Miller Polka Dot print that actually was the perfect match! I am not a fan of brown fabrics, but these pops of color on the brown background are fantastic!
Since I sewed up until 5 days before we leave for vacation, the Mister and I are scrambling to prep the house and get everything cleaned and packed. The kids’ last day of school is Thursday, so we will have a 9 hour travel day as soon as they get home to drop them off with their dad for summer. We will be leaving on Friday for Oregon after the house sitter arrives and will be there by Sunday. So the next To-Do Tuesday post will be up on time and unaffected by our traveling.
I really look forward to spending time away from the sewing machine and being able to read your blog posts at a more leisurely pace. I hope you won’t mind, but my posts will most likely be centered around needlework, rather than the sewing machine. I’m taking four cross stitching WIPs, and I am also bringing my Hexie EPP kit. I decided to do that at the last minute today, and it’s something I’ll talk about more next week.
Happy sewing and happy stitching! I can’t wait to read what you’ve all been working on this week!

Hi Christine,
I wish you safe travels. I’m also not a fan of brown fabric in general, but I do love the dot fabric you chose for the lining! So cute! You do such a nice job on your bags. Now you get a little break from them, and a chance to enjoy cross stitch. Good for you! ~smile~

Thank you, that print really did turn out cute! I am happy for the break from sewing the bags, but I know I’ll be missing sewing them soon enough. Funny how that works!

That Dot fabric looks like it could be part of the Birds of Norway line! Great match! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Summer at your various destinations! I’m all for seeing your needlework & EPP, and maybe any projects you are doing on your northern property during the Summer! Enjoy!

I searched and searched to find the fabric line the Birds of Norway print was from, and couldn’t find one! Not even on the Michael Miller website. Wwhen I saw this polka dot print I thought the same thing! I still don’t know what line that print is from, but I am super glad I found the perfect coordinate! We leave for Oregon tomorrow and are heading straight there. I am anxious to get there!

Thank you!! I have noticed we’ve gotten up to 8 link ups a few times, and I know that’s a small number, but for me that’s a big number! Yay!

LOVE these bags- and I’m not a fan of brown fabrics either. The lining really is a fabulous match! Safe travels! Are you there yet??? 😎

Thanks! I was very happy (and lucky) to find that fabric at the quilt shop. Otherwise I’d never have had time to find a different fabric online, have it shipped, and then make the bags before we left. We arrived last night! So happy to be off the road!!!
