To-Do Tuesday 5-16-17 | An Abundance of Project Bags

Hello, my friends! What a busy week it has been! On Thursday I finished the large commissioned bag order. It turned out that three of the bags weren’t the best fit for that order, so I made three more over this weekend. I think they all turned out really nicely!

Accessory Project Bags:

Large Project Bags:

If you’d like to purchase any of the above bags (with the exception of Poetica, Chipper, and Astraea which have already been sold), they will be listed at Down Sunshine Lane in about a week and a half!

I finally made a page HERE to show all of my Project Bags. I was going to put an order request form on that same page, but I won’t be taking orders for the next 11 weeks. When we get back from summer vacation, I’ll add it then.

I decided to take one last bag order before we leave for vacation. I’ll be making that this week, and hopefully finished by Thursday. After that I’ll be doing the usual scrubbing down of the house and getting the kids and us packed up for our respective destinations. This has been such a busy year so far, filled with making so many bags. I’m looking forward to a bit of a sewing break. When we return, I’ll have at least two more commissions to do, one large and a smaller one. After they’re finished I hope to get back to having extra time to make some quilts. Maybe I’ll actually get the Mister’s quilt finished and make the Bargello quilt for Josh by Christmas!

This week’s To-Do list:

  • Finish bag order
  • Prep house for summer vacation

Now it’s your turn! Write up your post and link up using the InLinkz linky below.

  1. Dude. Those bags are amazing! I am loving the coffee and martini ones especially! Also the Spooktacular pumpkins and, well, pretty much all of them!

    1. Thanks!! There were several bags that were hard to pack into the box! Those Martini glasses actually have silver glitter on some of the rims. It’s gorgeous fabric!

  2. Hi Christine! You do such a nice job on your bags. They all look lovely! Does this mean you take a break from posting for the summer? I hope not – I enjoy seeing your and everyone else’s to-do lists/links. ~smile~

    1. Thank you so much, Roseanne! I keep the weekly To-Do Tuesday posts going over the summer. The first year I started To-Do Tuesday I took a break during the summer and it was very hard to start back up again. Lesson learned there! Last year I had guest hosts since my husband and I spent a lot of time working on the house and I wouldn’t have a lot of time to sew. This year I won’t be sewing again either, but I will be taking my cross stitching with me. So I will have progress to share with that. So, no worries, I’ll be here posting every Tuesday!

    1. Thanks! I CAN’T WAIT to get there!! We are so excited! Brad has been a little concerned about the Santiam Pass since it still had snow there as of a few days ago (and maybe even now?!). Our fingers are crossed it will be clear when we drive over! Crazy since it’s mid-May!!

    1. Will do! I will be back to work by August 7th. I’m still on the lookout for a good apron pattern, but haven’t found one yet. Let me know if you run across one somewhere so I can purchase it!!

  3. Ok, Christine! You are really shining with your spectacular sewing skills! Love your bags! I can see why you would have a hard time packing up and shipping some of those bags with those fabric combos! Have a safe and wonderful summer!

    1. Thank you, Sharon! These are fun bags, for sure. I changed my fabric shopping habits from looking for great prints for a quilt to looking for novelty prints for bags! Too funny!
