Hello, friends! A quick post tonight. I couldn’t take pictures of the bags I’ve made this week, but I made sure to take one of one of my cross stitching WIPs. Santa’s Village is the WIP I work on over the weekends. I love this one so much. I finished Santa’s House and Santa, with the exception of the berries on the wreath and Santa’s eyes. I tried so hard to do french knots, which I’m really good at, but since these were one-strand knots they kept slipping to the back of the fabric. So frustrating. The after re-doing them 5 times the Mister suggested that I use beads. That’s a pretty common substitution in cross stitch. I didn’t want to give up, but decided I was wasting too much time and there are quite a few more french knots called for throughout the pattern. So I ordered some Delica beads. Once I get this piece on some 24″ scroll rods I ordered for it, I’ll put the beads on. Ignore the wavy top border on this, the tension on my Q-Snap is wonky.
This week I have two more bags to make and then we will be getting ready for a quick trip to Oregon for Spring Break. It will be really busy, so I may not have much progress to show next week. When I get back I’d really like to make a handbag out of some amazing fabric I picked up. I also plan to finish Mister’s quilt and start on the Bargello. I really need to schedule more quilting time into my days, and since the year is already a quarter of the way gone, I don’t want to delay. Summer time comes really quickly and that will take away more time. So no more putting off the quilting!

Love that Santa’s village and I think the beads will be a great substitution! Also, I cannot believe it is Spring Break time already. Good grief, time flies!

Isn’t it nice to get to work on your own personal project? Can you tell me about that Santa head – is it a needle keeper? I hope you enjoy the trip to Oregon!

I love this Santa project so much. The Santa head is a needle minder. I received it as a gift from Amy of http://www.downsunshinelane.com when I ordered the pattern set and button set for the Santa’s Village. Such a great shop and amazing customer service
