To-Do Tuesday 1-31-17 | Cross Stitching Update

Hello, friends! Happy Tuesday! I am actually going to talk about something other than Project Bags. What??!!! Well, kind of. I did end up completing 9 bags, as you can see in the Gallery below. Big thanks to Amy and Dyani for their orders! The one thing I will say about the bags is that I plan on setting up a page for just Project Bag pictures. Since this is becoming a real thing, I need to have images of them all in one place to refer potential customers to. One of these days I will catch up and have some bags in stock to sell!

My evenings have been spent cross stitching. It has really helped me relax after some super busy days. A few weeks ago I said I would talk about my current WIPs, but didn’t really get around to it. I thought this week’s post would be a good time to write about them, since all of my recent posts have been centered around the Project bags and I think ya’ll would enjoy me talking about something different.

The Burlesque Zombie Portrait from the book Twisted Stitches is my oldest WIP. I started this in 2014 and stopped stitching on it for about a year, picking it up in October of 2016. This is my progress from October of 2016 to January 13, 2017. I work on her the first two weeks of the month, Monday (if I have time after blog writing) through Friday.

I did get the Glendon Place Sleepy Hollow chart, fabric, and specialty threads for Christmas. Yay! I had most of the rest of the DMC floss in my stash. I work on this chart the third week of the month, Monday through Friday. I got so excited working on this chart that I actually bumped my weekend WIP and stitched on this for one weekend instead. Super love this one!

Stitch ALL The Things | Ship's Manor Mystery Town SAL

The fourth week of the month is spent working on the new Ship’s Manor Mystery Town Stitch Along. The first month’s release was the landscape for the mystery town. I am trying to get the landscape around the first building done so that when that is released I can start right in with stitching it. Which means I bumped my weekend WIP for a second time! I am planning on spending the rest of Monday night and Tuesday night stitching it so that I can be ready for the next installment.

My weekend WIP, that I’ve bumped for two weekends in a row, is I Love You So Very Much by Stitchrovia. I really do want to get this one finished, but it does seem the easiest to bump from my rotation.

Care Taker is my BAP (Big Ass Project) that I work on the 5th of every month. This is a very large chart and this is my progress from January 5th. It doesn’t seem like much, but that’s about three hours of work. And I have to frog it all and restart it. It wasn’t until today when I went to take a picture of it that I realized I started on the long side of the fabric, rather than the short side. UGH! So part of my day on February 5th will be be taking all of those out and redoing them. I am so looking forward to that. Not.

Finally, my last WIP is I Cross Stitch by Clouds Factory. I only work on this one when we travel. It’s a lot easier for me to stitch on white aida when I’m in the car and I don’t need my magnifier LED light for this one.

Those are a lot of WIPs for me, but I am looking to see where I can add in Santa’s Village from Country Cottage Needleworks. I just got all of the patterns and the JABC buttons for it, and I have the fabric and specialty flosses coming from 123Stitch. I am so loving this one, and I can’t wait to start it! So much to stitch, so little time!

This week’s To-Do list:

  • Work on two Project Bag commissions

  1. I love all your bags, so colorful! And the cross stitch! I got a chuckle out of how you have bumped one out of your thoughtfully planned rotation! Kind of like I have done my quilt WIP for years and thus have lots not completed! But hey! You should really work on that Love one to complete by Valentine Day! And I’ll spend 2017 working on finishing my quilt WIP and UFO!

    1. Thanks, Sharon! There’s always a project that can be bumped, right?! The worst part is that it’s the closest to being finished! Probably three or four more weekends of working on it. The plan now is to buckle down and get that done so that I can start working on Santa’s Village on the weekends!!
