Happy Cinco de Mayo!! I’ve enjoyed some enchiladas, accompanied by some yummy Dos Equis. I should have had a margarita and may still a little later!

You may have noticed I skipped my To-Do Tuesday post last week. This time of year is particularly busy for the Mister and I, as we are preparing to high-tail it out of Arizona and away from the heat for the summer. I’ve been busy trying to get the Iron Man quilt completed before we leave. I’m really behind on helping get the house and motor home ready since I’m also working part-time this year. So the past couple of weeks I have just put my head down and focused on completing the quilt so I could free up my days off.

I completed the quilting on Sunday and sewed the binding to the front. I’m spending the evenings hand-stitching the binding to the back. I’m not in a big rush as it’s not due until June 14th. My goal was to get it shipped by the third week in May and I’m well ahead of schedule and now able to help Mister get everything ready to go.
I was considering putting the To-Do Tuesday posts on hold over the summer again, but since I’m bringing quilting projects to work on over the summer I’ve decided to keep the posts going. I’m bringing Maye, my Singer Featherweight along, and will only be working on making quilt tops. Sarah, of Georgia Girl Quilts, and I will be starting our F Word blocks up again. Woo Hoo! I’ll be finishing my 2014 Sugar Block Club blocks too. I also have a few other pre-cuts I’d like to turn into quick quilt tops. So I should be busy enough to keep To-Do Tuesday going!
How have your projects been coming along? Do you have plans for the summer? I can’t wait to read about them! Speaking of, I’m hoping to catch up on blog reading over the summer too!!

I remember that motorhome stop. Very interesting place. It was the site of the Battle of Big Horn in Montana. Really great piece of history. They even have marked the ground where horses fell as well as the calvary. Makes me excited to get to summer!!!

The backing fabric for the Iron Man quilt looks perfect in your sneak peak photo. Where do you head to avoid the heat? Just travel around or is there a specific location? I need to finish binding a quilt and get it shipped off and then it will be time to load and quilt the largest quilt I’ve made to date (103 inches wide by 122 inches long -eep!).

I loved this backing the moment I saw it! We usually head to the northwest and visit my husband’s family in Salem, OR. This year will be going around to it the long way so that I can see a bit more of the country. I’m excited! Plus, new quilt shops to visit! Yippee!!
Your quilt… Wow!!! I can’t wait to see it; you do such amazing work! Good luck and I hope all goes perfectly for you!

Well golly gee gosh, off you go again! Nice to be taking along that little Featherweight, tho, with plans for some sewing. Maybe you can scope out some shops particapating in the Row by Row Experience this Summer. I glad you plan on keeping the To-Do Tuesdays going. It took me a while to catch back up with you when you returned last year.
I pulled outa Drunkard’s Path UFO this week, and also got a demo ready for Saturday.
Iron Man is looking good!
Happy Trails!

I definitely hope to catch a few of those Row by Row shops!! I’m glad I’m not putting the posts on hold either. It took me way too long to get that started back up after last summer! Better to keep things moving forward, instead of coming to a stand still. I have yet to make a Drunkard’s Path quilt, but it’s on my to-do list. Especially now that I’m not as afraid of curves!
