Well. I had plans to get stuff done this past week. I had three blog posts to write, and a quilt top to finish. I’d like to say I crossed all that off my list. What I did manage to accomplish was nurse the entire family through a sick weekend. Blech!
The Mister became sick with the flu and that kept him down and feverish for about 6 days (he’s still recovering). My daughter caught the same thing, but thankfully seems to be much better tonight. My son and I both became ill with what seemed to be the beginnings of the flu, but we ended up with head colds. It is a huge understatement to say that I was sending up massive amounts of prayer and good thoughts that I would only be sick with a cold?! There is nothing worse than being sick and having to care for everyone else too. I ended up resting for two hours, doing rounds to see how the kids were doing, give meds and feed people and then go rest so I could do it all over again.
By Sunday I was feeling okay-ish enough to sit at the sewing machine and try to make progress on the Urban Churn Dash blocks. Sadly, I didn’t even enjoy the sewing. I just couldn’t let the whole weekend pass without doing something on this quilt. I’m running out of time… again! (Pretty sure that should be my quilty motto.) I managed to finish four of the blue blocks and got all 5 red blocks almost completely done. I need to only sew one more row onto the blocks and they’re all finished. Hoping to get this top assembled this coming week and would love to get the backing sewn and the whole thing basted. Asking too much? Possibly, if we’re going by the last few months’ progress on quilts.

Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow, right? 😉 Just kidding! There is nothing worse than forcing yourself to sew when you don’t feel well. YOUR URBAN CHURN DASH BLOCKS ARE AMAZING! So perfect for a Spider Man quilt. (I know I’ve said that before, but it really needed to be said again!) Glad you all are feeling better!

Maybe that should be my motto too! Hahaha!! I’m liking how these blocks are turning out too, despite my major bungling of the flying geese. They’re flat on all sides, no points whatsoever, but I don’t think it will matter once the whole quilt is together. BTW, THIS comment was not in spam. In fact, I didn’t even have to approve it. Ghosts in the machines, I’m telling you….

Sorry you and yours have been sick. 😦 But hopefully you are feeling better now and enjoying some sewing time. Ugh. We’ve had it here too, but all better finally. And since your hubby was sick, I’m even more grateful to have received the LED bulbs so quickly! I’m having friends over for sewing tomorrow and I’ll get to show off my Featherweight and it’s new improved light!

Thank you so much, Sharon! Every day we feel better than the one before… so we are glad and grateful for progress! This does seem to be going around everywhere, and it doesn’t want to leave easily either!
It’s really important to Brad to have very happy customers and we are both thrilled that you are happy with the bulb! I hope your sewing day went well and you all had lots of fun!!!
